73. Slim Cessna’s Auto Club—ALWAYS SAY PLEASE AND THANK YOU

This band out of Denver, Colorado, plays a rowdy fusion of country, punk rock, and post-Christian gospel. They are legendary for their wild and crazy concerts and listening to their lively studio recordings one can imagine why. One big question is how serious they are with their theological reflections—probably not very, but it remains impossible to say for sure. In any case, songs such as “Last Song About Satan,” “Jesus Christ,” and “Water Into Wine” are extraordinarily infectious regardless of the listener’s own religious sensibilities.
